MFA Press Statement: Condolence Letters from Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan on the Earthquake near the Iran-Iraq Border on 12 November 2017

            Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan has written to Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Dr Mohammad Javad Zarif and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq Dr Ibrahim Al-Jaafari, to convey his condolences on the earthquake that struck near the Iran-Iraq border on 12 November 2017.

I am deeply saddened to learn of the extensive devastation caused by the earthquake near the Iran-Iraq border on 12 November 2017, which took many innocent lives and left thousands of people injured. I would like to convey my deepest sympathies to the families who lost their loved ones, and whose lives have been affected by the earthquake.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Iran and its people during this time of national mourning.
