MFA Press Statement: Official Visit of His Excellency Lars Løkke Rasmussen Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Denmark and Mrs Sólrun Løkke Rasmussen, 29 to 30 Nov 2017

Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Denmark Lars Løkke Rasmussen, who is on an Official Visit to Singapore at the invitation of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, received an official ceremonial welcome at the Istana today.  Following which, Prime Minister Rasmussen called on President Halimah Yacob.  President and Prime Minister Rasmussen reaffirmed the good bilateral relations between Singapore and Denmark, as like-minded maritime nations with open economies.  Prime Minister Rasmussen also met Prime Minister Lee and both Prime Ministers exchanged views on the future economy and workforce development, as well as discussed regional and international developments. 

 

Minister for Trade and Industry (Industry) S Iswaran hosted Prime Minister Rasmussen to a working lunch.  In the afternoon, Prime Minister Rasmussen delivered opening remarks at the “Panel Debate on Future Skills” at the INSEAD Asia campus and attended the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding on Joint Precision Medicine Collaboration Programme between the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR).  Prime Minister Rasmussen also visited the National University of Singapore where he took a ride on an Autonomous Vehicle. 

 

Prime Minister Lee and Mrs Lee will host an official dinner at the Istana in honour of Prime Minister Rasmussen and Mrs Sólrun Løkke Rasmussen this evening.  Prime Minister Rasmussen will depart Singapore today.
