Dr Ali Taiebnia, Senior Advisor to the Iran President, will visit Singapore from 28 January to 4 February 2018 as the 62nd Lee Kuan Yew Exchange Fellow. Dr Taiebnia, who served as Iran’s Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance from 2013 to 2017, will be the first Lee Kuan Yew Exchange Fellow from Iran.
While in Singapore, Dr Taiebnia will call on Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic and Social Policies Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong, Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Trade and Industry (Industry) S Iswaran, and Acting Chief Executive Officer of International Enterprise Singapore Kathy Lai. Dr Taiebnia will also meet Lee Kuan Yew Exchange Fellowship (LKYEF) Chairman Eddie Teo, who will host a welcome dinner in honour of Dr Taiebnia and his delegation.
In addition, Dr Taiebnia will meet members of the Singapore business community at a roundtable session organised by the Singapore Business Federation.
Established in 1991, the LKYEF invites outstanding individuals for high-level visits to Singapore. The Fellows are chosen on the basis of their track records and extraordinary potential to contribute to the development of their nations and to promote bilateral relations with Singapore.
