His Excellency U Win Myint
President
Republic of the Union of Myanmar
Excellency,
Please accept my warmest congratulations as you assume the Presidency of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
I fondly recall our first meeting at the 37th ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly hosted by Myanmar on 30 September 2016, when I was then-Speaker of Parliament. I look forward to working closely with you again in our current capacities.
Singapore and Myanmar enjoy excellent bilateral relations, which span trade and investment, finance, education and people-to-people exchanges. In 2016, our two countries celebrated the flourishing ties of 50 years of bilateral relations. I am confident that in the years ahead, we will continue to strengthen the relations between Singapore and Myanmar.
I look forward to meeting you again soon.
Yours sincerely,
HALIMAH YACOB
