Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland, His Excellency Prof. Piotr Gliński, paid a courtesy call on Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic and Social Policies Tharman Shanmugaratnam this morning.
The two DPMs reaffirmed the friendly and growing relations between Singapore and Poland, and welcomed the good progress in bilateral ties in recent years. The DPMs agreed that the commencement of direct flights between Singapore and Poland would boost bilateral cooperation, and facilitate strong trade and investment links as well as people-to-people ties. The DPMs noted that Singapore and Poland would commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2019.
DPM Gliński is visiting Singapore in conjunction with the launch of direct flights between Singapore and Warsaw by LOT Polish Airlines. DPM Gliński arrived on the inaugural flight yesterday, and was received by Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Minister for Transport Khaw Boon Wan. DPM Gliński will meet Minister for Culture, Community and Youth Grace Fu tomorrow.
DPM Gliński will depart for Warsaw at midnight on 19 May 2018.
