Minister for Social and Family Development & Second Minister for National Development Desmond Lee, accompanied by his wife, will visit Brunei Darussalam from 14 to 16 July 2018 as the Singapore Government’s representative to the 72ndbirthday celebrations of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Negara Brunei Darussalam, on 15 July. Minister Lee’s visit to personally convey the birthday wishes of Singapore’s leaders to His Majesty reflects the close and longstanding special relationship between Brunei and Singapore.
Minister Lee will have an audience with His Majesty on 15 July 2018, and attend the Royal Guard of Honour Ceremony and Investiture Ceremony, as well as Royal Banquet. Minister Lee will also meet Brunei Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Haji Aminuddin Ihsan and Brunei Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism Dato Awang Haji Ali Apong during his visit.
