Senior Minister of State (SMS), Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr Mohamad Maliki Osman concluded his working visit to Vienna, Austria from 15 to 17 July 2018.
On 16 July 2018, SMS Maliki met Secretary General for Foreign Affairs Johannes Peterlik. They reaffirmed the warm relationship between Singapore and Austria, and welcomed strengthening bilateral ties at all levels. They also exchanged views on developments in the European Union (EU) and ASEAN. In addition, Secretary General Peterlik expressed Austria’s support for the smooth ratification of the EU-Singapore Free Trade Agreement (EUSFTA).
Later the same day, SMS Maliki attended a business roundtable together with EDB’s Economic Ambassador, Dr Erich Erber, and Austrian business representatives, and discussed economic opportunities in Singapore and Southeast Asia. In the same evening, SMS Maliki attended a dinner reception hosted for overseas Singaporeans based in Austria.
On 17 July 2018, SMS Maliki made a site visit to Erber Campus, which serves as the Headquarters of ERBER Group, and Tulln Technology and Research Centre. The ERBER Group is a leading Austrian company specialising in the field of probiotic animal feed additives, feed and food safety. As part of the site visit, Dr Erber shared his company’s experience in innovation and research, and ongoing operations in Singapore.
SMS Maliki will depart Vienna for Bucharest later today.
