On behalf of the people of Singapore, I would like to convey my best wishes to Your Excellency and the people of India on the jubilant occasion of the Republic of India’s 72nd Independence Day.

 

Since India’s independence in 1947, relations between Singapore and India have made significant progress. We have built on our Strategic Partnership by deepening our cooperation in many areas including trade and investment, defence, smart cities and skills development. This year, Singapore and India forged new avenues of cooperation in areas such as FinTech. I am confident that bilateral relations between our two countries will continue to flourish and reach new heights.

           Singapore and India enjoy excellent relations underpinned by wide- ranging cooperation, not just in trade and investment, skills development, smart cities and defence, but also in new areas such as FinTech and innovation.  I look forward to working with you to take our strong bilateral relations to greater heights.
