President Halimah Yacob and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong have written to President Joko Widodo of the Republic of Indonesia, to convey their condolences on the crash of Lion Air flight JT610 in Indonesia on 29 October 2018. Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan has also written to Indonesian Minister for Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi to express his sympathies.
