MFA Press Statement: Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Trade and Industry, Dr Tan Wu Meng's Visit to Paris, France to attend the OECD Southeast Asian Regional Programme Forum, 11 - 12 March 2019

Senior Parliamentary Secretary (SPS), Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Trade and Industry, Dr Tan Wu Meng will visit Paris, France from 11 – 12 March 2019 to attend the OECD Southeast Asian Regional Programme Forum.

          

The Forum’s theme is “Connecting Southeast Asia”. At the Forum, SPS Tan will speak on Singapore’s deliverables relating to ASEAN connectivity initiatives during our ASEAN Chairmanship in 2018. He will also speak on the importance of upholding the rules-based multilateral trading system, as well as on promoting Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs).

 

While in Paris, SPS Tan will meet French Minister of State reporting to the Minister for Europe and Foreign AffairsJean-Baptiste Lemoyne and OECD Secretary General Angel Gurria. SPS Tan will also give opening remarks at the DeepTech France-Singapore Workshop, whichpromotes Singapore as a launch pad for French DeepTech enterprises and startups looking to expand in the region. In addition, SPS Tan will meet with representatives from the business sector, think-tanks and academia.

 

               SPS Tan will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
