The following foreign Heads of Mission presented their credentials to President Halimah Yacob in separate ceremonies at the Istana today:

JOANNE DIEDRE TYNDALL

HIGH COMMISSIONER TO SINGAPORE

NEW ZEALAND

 

                High Commissioner Joanne Diedre Tyndall served as New Zealand’s Climate Change Ambassador from 2010 to 2018. As Climate Change Ambassador, she was head of delegation to the United Nations climate negotiations from July 2010 to March 2016. Ms Tyndall also co-chaired the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change’s Ad Hoc Working Group on the Paris Agreement from 2016 to 2018.

Ms Tyndall was Director of the Broadcasting Unit in the Ministry for Culture and Heritage from 2005 to 2010.  From 1999 to 2006, she was Chief Executive of the broadcasting funding body, NZ On Air.  She has also served as Chief Executive of two screen industry organisations - the Screen Production and Development Association (SPADA) and Project Blue Sky (1994 to 1999). 

Ms Tyndall began her career as a multilateral trade policy specialist with the New Zealand Department of Trade and Industry and subsequently the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

ABDULLA MAUSOOM

 AMBASSADOR TO SINGAPORE

REPUBLIC OF MALDIVES 

 

Dr Mausoom was born on the island of Kelaa, Maldives. He was a Member of Parliament and the CEO of Streamliners Pvt Ltd. He holds a Doctorate Degree on sustainable tourism development conferred by the School of Public Policy, University of Birmingham, UK. He spent over 10 years abroad for higher education in England, Northern Ireland, Germany and Malaysia.

Dr Mausoom has held various cabinet positions in the Maldives government, including Minister of Tourism & Civil Aviation. and Minister of Environment, Energy and Water. He was also previously head of the Maldives Tourism Promotion Board.

Dr Mausoom has served as a member of the Tourism Promotion Advisory Council; board director of State Trading Organization; member of the College Council of Maldives; board director of the Maldives Transport & Construction Company; and a board member of Maldives Association of Tourism Industry; and also worked as General Manager of Sun Island Resort and Spa, the largest resort in the Maldives.

FRANK OKYERE

HIGH COMMISSIONER TO SINGAPORE

REPUBLIC OF GHANA

High Commissioner Frank Okyere is the Ambassador of Ghana to Japan, with concurrent accreditation to Singapore. Born on 18 June 1948 in Kumasi, Ghana, he obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Planning from the City of London College in 1976. Most of his professional life was spent in the family business, including as Managing Director of Oyoko Europarts Ltd, prior to his Ambassadorial appointment. He has two sons and a daughter.
