The Government has appointed Mr Kevin Cheok as Singapore’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand, and Mr Andrew Kwan Kok Tiong as Singapore’s Non-Resident Ambassador to the Kingdom of Sweden.
Mr Cheok joined the Singapore Foreign Service in 1996. He served as Singapore’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Cambodia from 2013 to 2016. Mr Cheok was the Deputy High Commissioner at the High Commission of Singapore in Kuala Lumpur from 2008 to 2011, Deputy Permanent Representative at the Permanent Mission of Singapore to the United Nations in New York from 2005 to 2008, and First Secretary at the Embassy of Singapore in Berlin from 2000 to 2003.
Mr Cheok held various appointments at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Singapore, including as Director-General for the Southeast Asia I Directorate from 2012 to 2013, and Deputy Director for Malaysia and Brunei in the Southeast Asia Directorate. Mr Cheok was seconded to the Ministry of National Development as Senior Director/Infrastructure from 2016 to 2018.
Mr Cheok graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Lafayette College, United States of America in 1991. He obtained a Master’s Degree (International Affairs) in 1996 from Columbia University, USA.
Mr Cheok was awarded the Public Administration Medal (Silver) in 2018. He is married to Mdm Low Hui Ching.
Mr Kwan is the founder and Managing Director of Commonwealth Capital Group.
Mr Kwan is a Member of the Board of Directors of Enterprise Singapore, and will be appointed as a Member of the Board of Directors of Singapore Food Authority with effect from 1 April 2019. He is also a Council member of the Singapore Business Federation and Vice-President of the Restaurant Association of Singapore. He is also a member of the Board of Directors for Focus on the Family, a non-profit organisation, a Non-Resident Fellow of Eusoff Hall at the National University of Singapore, and Chairman of Spectra Secondary School. Mr Kwan serves as an elder at his local church.
Mr Kwan graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from Schulich School of Business, York University, Canada.

ANDREW KWAN
NON-RESIDENT AMBASSADOR TO THE KINGDOM OF SWEDEN

Mr Kwan was named the Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (ASME)-Rotary Entrepreneur of the Year, the Spirit of Enterprise’s Entrepreneur of the Year award and his companies have won numerous accolades including the Business Times Entreprise50, Fastest Growing50 as well as the Franchisor of the Year award by the Franchise and Licensing Association. Mr Kwan is married to Mdm Lily Koh Bee Gan and they have four children.
