EL HACEN MOHAMED ELEYATT

AMBASSADOR OF THE ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF MAURITANIA TO THE REPUBLIC OF SINGAPORE

     Mr El Hacen Mohamed Eleyatt, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania to the Republic of Singapore (with residence in Tokyo), is Mauritania’s first Ambassador accredited to Singapore following the establishment of diplomatic relations on 22 February 2018.

     A career diplomat, Ambassador Eleyatt served as Mauritania’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York from 2015 to 2017, prior to his current appointment as Ambassador to Japan (with concurrent accreditation to Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore).

     Ambassador Eleyatt has a Master in Economic Science and a Master in English Literature, both from the University of Nouakchott. He also has a Master in Diplomacy from the National School of Administration of Nouakchott. Ambassador Eleyatt was born in Nouakchott, Mauritania. He is married with two children.

DR ABDULGHANI NASSR ALI AL SHAMIRI

AMBASSADOR OF THE REPUBLIC OF YEMEN TO THE REPUBLIC OF SINGAPORE

Dr. Abdulghani Nassr Ali Al Shamiri was born on 28 October 1964. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Media, Radio, and Television, from King Saud University, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 1987. He obtained a Master of Arts in Political Science from Sana'a University, Republic of Yemen in 2008 and a Doctor of Philosophy in International Relations from Abdulmalek Alsaadi University, Morocco in 2012.

Dr. Abdulghani joined Yemen TV as a Presenter from 1990 to 1992, as Head of Political Programmes and News Reports from 1992 to 1993, and as Director of Political Programmes from 1993 to 1995. He was the General Manager for the Yemen Corporation for Radio and Television in Aden from 1995 to 1999, Chairman of the Department of Information and Culture Affairs in the Office of the Presidency from 1999 to 2001, and Head of Television Programmes in the Yemen Satellite Channel from 2001 to 2007. He was assigned as the Political and Media Advisor to Staff General Ali Mohsen Al Ahmar, Commander of the 1st Armoured Division and North-Western Military District of the Yemeni Armed Forces, and subsequently as Counsellor to Vice President of the Republic of Yemen Ali Mohsen Al Ahmar. In January 2018, Dr. Abdulghani was appointed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Yemen to Indonesia.

Dr. Abdulghani speaks Arabic and English. He is married to Mrs. Fatmh Mohamed Hasan Al Shameri. They have five sons and three daughters.
