President Halimah Yacob will visit Beijing, China, from 14 to 16 May 2019 at the invitation of the President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping to attend the Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilisations.
President Halimah will attend the Welcome Dinner hosted by President Xi on 14 May 2019, and deliver a speech the next day at the Opening Ceremony of the Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilisations. President Halimah will have bilateral meetings with President Xi as well as Premier Li Keqiang, and will also meet and be hosted to a meal by Secretary of Communist Party of China Central Committee Secretariat Wang Huning.
President Halimah will be accompanied by Mr Mohamed Abdullah Alhabshee, Minister (Culture, Community and Youth) Grace Fu, and Minister of State (Foreign Affairs) (Social and Family Development) Sam Tan as well as senior officials from the President’s Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, as well as the National Youth Council.
During President Halimah’s absence, Mr Eddie Teo, Chairman of the Council of Presidential Advisers, will exercise the function of the Office of the President.
