President of the Republic of Maldives His Excellency Ibrahim Mohamed Solih will make a State Visit to Singapore on 1 July 2019 at the invitation of President Halimah Yacob. President Solih will be accompanied by his wife, First Lady Madam Fazna Ahmed, Ministers and senior officials.
President Solih will receive a Welcome Ceremony at the Istana on 1 July. This will be followed by a courtesy call on President Halimah, who will also host a State Lunch in honour of President Solih. President Solih will meet Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, and both leaders will witness the signing of two Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) on an Open Skies Agreement and Cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Singapore.
President Solih and Madam Fazna will visit the Singapore Botanic Gardens where an orchid will be named in their honour. They will also visit Semakau Landfill to learn about Singapore’s experience in waste management.
