Visit of Suriname Minister of Foreign Affairs Ms Yldiz Pollack-Beighle, 6 - 7 Aug 2019

Suriname Minister of Foreign Affairs Yldiz Pollack-Beighle is on a visit to Singapore from 6 to 7 August 2019.  Minister Pollack-Beighle is in Singapore to attend the Signing Ceremony of the Singapore Convention on Mediation on 7 August 2019.
 
2 During her meeting with Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan on 6 August 2019, both Ministers discussed ways to deepen and broaden the bilateral relationship, including by facilitating greater business and tourism exchanges between Singapore and Suriname.  They also discussed common challenges and interests of small states, including the development of human capital and climate change.  Minister Balakrishnan expressed Singapore’s support of the developmental priorities of Suriname and the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), and welcomed their participation in the Singapore Cooperation Programme.  
 
3 Minister Pollack-Beighle will also be hosted to a tour of ITE College Central.
