Official Visit of Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security Teo Chee Hean to Negara Brunei Darussalam, 1 to 4 October 2019

Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security Teo Chee Hean will lead a delegation of Singapore political office-holders to Negara Brunei Darussalam from 1 to 4 October 2019 for the 7th Young Leaders’ Programme (YLP), at the invitation of His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office of Negara Brunei Darussalam.
 
Started in 2013, the YLP is an annual exchange of visits that Brunei and Singapore take turns to host. The YLP reflects the long-term commitment of Singapore and Brunei to enhance the special bilateral relationship, including through the strengthening of ties between the younger generation leaders of both countries. SM Teo will be accompanied by:

SM Teo and the delegation will have an audience with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Negara Brunei Darussalam. The delegation will also have an audience with and be hosted to lunch by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Billah and Her Royal Highness Princess Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah. His Royal Highness Crown Prince Billah, SM Teo and the delegation will go on a morning walk at Jerudong Park.
 
SM Teo will visit the Royal Brunei Navy Headquarters at Muara Naval Base, Universiti Teknologi Brunei, and Universiti Brunei Darussalam. During his visit to Universiti Teknologi Brunei, SM Teo will give a speech on Singapore-Brunei relations and cooperation in the global context.
 
During the visit, SM Teo will reaffirm our close bilateral ties and robust cooperation in wide-ranging areas, including defence, finance, trade and investment, culture, education and health. SM Teo will also explore and discuss new areas of collaboration, such as agri-food and aquaculture cooperation, with his Bruneian counterparts.
 
SM Teo and the delegation will also meet the Singapore community in Brunei at a dinner reception.
