Official Visit by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong to Yerevan, Armenia, 28 September to 1 October 2019

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong is in Yerevan, Armenia to attend the session of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council on 1 October 2019, at the invitation of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
 
Prime Minister Lee had several bilateral meetings on the sidelines at the request of his counterparts. Prime Minister Lee met with President of the Republic of Moldova Igor Dodon, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hassan Rouhani.
 
During PM Lee’s meeting with President of the Republic of Moldova Igor Dodon, both leaders reaffirmed the friendly ties between Singapore and Moldova, and welcomed more exchanges of visits at all levels to explore opportunities for collaboration.
 
During PM Lee’s meeting with President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, they discussed ways to further strengthen the good bilateral ties. PM Lee and President Tokayev also welcomed the conclusion of the Eurasian Economic Union-Singapore Free Trade Agreement, which provides another platform for closer bilateral economic engagement. Both leaders also exchanged views on regional developments.
 
During PM Lee’s meeting with President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hassan Rouhani, they discussed regional and global developments as well as bilateral relations. PM noted that the situation in the Middle East was complex, and that there was a need to reduce tensions and create conditions for peace and stability.  
 
PM Lee will be leaving Armenia for Singapore on 1 October 2019.
