The President of the Republic of Estonia, Kersti Kaljulaid, met President Halimah Yacob today. The Presidents reaffirmed the warm and friendly ties between Singapore and Estonia. They discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in areas such as the digital economy and cybersecurity, as both countries work towards COVID-19 recovery. President Halimah welcomed the establishment of the Embassy of the Republic of Estonia in Singapore this year.
President Kaljulaid also received a call by Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan. They took stock of the growing bilateral relationship, and discussed ways to step up collaboration, including in the digital and economic spheres. They also exchanged views on the COVID-19 situation, and agreed on the need to enhance digital interoperability between our countries.
President Kaljulaid will participate in the inaugural Asia Tech x Singapore (ATxSG) Summit organised by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) tomorrow.
