Foreign Minister of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka Gamini Lakshman Peiris is in Singapore for an Official Visit from 8 to 9 June 2022. He will stay on to attend the 19th Shangri-La Dialogue.
Minister Peiris called on Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for Social Policies Tharman Shanmugaratnam today. On 8 June, Minister Peiris met Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong and was hosted to lunch by Minister for Home Affairs and Minister for Law K Shanmugam.
Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan also met and hosted Minister Peiris to lunch today. Minister Balakrishnan and Minister Peiris reaffirmed the close ties between Singapore and Sri Lanka and discussed avenues to strengthen bilateral cooperation. Minister Peiris provided an update on developments in Sri Lanka. The Ministers also had a good exchange of views on regional and global developments.
