Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China Liu Jianchao called on Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic Policies Heng Swee Keat on 15 July 2022.
Deputy Prime Minister Heng and Minister Liu reaffirmed the broad and substantive relations between Singapore and China. They discussed ways to advance mutually beneficial cooperation and exchanged views on the importance of good governance and citizen engagement. Deputy Prime Minister Heng and Minister Liu welcomed the strong people-to-people ties and close party-to-party links between both sides, which enhanced mutual understanding. They also discussed the importance of maintaining the positive momentum of bilateral engagements, and looked forward to closer Singapore-China collaboration.
Deputy Prime Minister Heng and Minister Liu also exchanged views on regional and international developments.
