Upgrade of Singapore’s Diplomatic Representation in Dhaka, Bangladesh

Singapore will upgrade its Consulate in Dhaka to a High Commission from 1 October 2023, to be headed by a Charge d’Affaires a.i.. The upgrade reflects the deepening economic and people-to-people relations between Singapore and Bangladesh. The upgrade was conveyed by Singapore’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan to Bangladesh’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr AK Abdul Momen on 20 September 2023 during a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the 78^th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
