Prime Minister (PM) Lee Hsien Loong will make an Official Visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from 17 to 22 October 2023 at the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince and PM His Royal Highness Mohammed Bin Salman Al Saud and UAE President and Ruler of Abu Dhabi His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, respectively. PM will also attend the ASEAN-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit in Riyadh, KSA, on 20 October.
During his visit to KSA from 17 to 20 October 2023, PM will call on Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman and meet with other Saudi leaders. PM will be briefed on KSA’s Vision 2030 and attend a reception for Overseas Singaporeans. Apart from Riyadh, PM will visit historical and cultural sites in Madinah and Al Ula. At the ASEAN-GCC Summit, the ASEAN and GCC Leaders will discuss ways to strengthen relations and expand cooperation to new and emerging areas such as the green and digital economies.
During his visit to the UAE from 21 to 22 October 2023, PM will call on President Sheikh Mohamed and meet with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince His Highness Sheikh Khaled Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. PM will visit the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) for a briefing on the UAE’s energy transition plans. Apart from Abu Dhabi, PM will visit Dubai to meet Emirati leaders and attend a reception for Overseas Singaporeans.
In KSA, PM will be accompanied by Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan; Minister for Education and Minister-in-Charge of the Public Service Chan Chun Sing; Minister for Social and Family Development, Second Minister for Health and Minister-in-Charge of Muslim Affairs Masagos Zulkifli; and Minister for Manpower and Second Minister for Trade and Industry Dr Tan See Leng.
In the UAE, PM will be accompanied by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, Second Minister for Foreign Affairs and Second Minister for Education Dr Mohamed Maliki Osman, Minister for Manpower and Second Minister for Trade and Industry Dr Tan See Leng; Senior Minister of State for Sustainability and the Environment and Senior Minister of State for Transport Dr Amy Khor; and Senior Minister of State for Communications and Information and Senior Minister of State for Health Dr Janil Puthucheary.
During PM Lee’s absence, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong will be Acting Prime Minister.
