Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan will visit Cook Islands from 9 to 11 November 2023 to attend the 52nd Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) Leaders Meeting. This is the first time that Singapore is attending the PIF Leaders Meeting as Dialogue Partner of the PIF, following our admission in January 2022.
Minister Balakrishnan’s visit builds on the longstanding and warm relations that Singapore shares with the Pacific Islands. This will be an opportunity to strengthen bilateral, economic, and multilateral cooperation. The PIF is a key regional forum in the Pacific that seeks to foster cooperation amongst its members and collaboration with external partners.
Minister Balakrishnan will speak at the 2050 Pacific Prosperity High-Level Thematic Dialogue on 10 November 2023, and meet leaders from the Pacific to discuss bilateral and regional cooperation.
Minister Balakrishnan will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
