Senator Claire Chandler, Australian Shadow Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs, will visit Singapore under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Distinguished Visitors’ Programme (DVP) from 7 to 12 January 2024. The DVP is the Ministry’s premier visit programme launched in 2005 for distinguished foreign leaders and personalities to visit Singapore to engage Singapore leaders and senior government officials on issues of mutual interest. Senator Chandler’s visit reaffirms the strong bipartisan support in Australia for Singapore-Australia relations.
Senator Chandler will meet Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, Second Minister for Education and Second Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Mohamad Maliki Osman, Senior Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of National Development Sim Ann, Minister of State in the Ministry of Social and Family Development and Ministry of Home Affairs Sun Xueling, Minister of State in the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Manpower Gan Siow Huang, Minister of State in the Ministry of Trade and Industry and Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth Alvin Tan, and Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs Albert Chua. She will receive briefings from the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, the Inter-Religious Organisation and SportSG.
