Register as an Overseas Elector

22 Jun 2017

The registers of electors have been revised and are open for public inspection from 20 June 2017 to 3 July 2017. The revised registers contain the names of all qualified electors as of 1 July 2017.  The revision is to bring the registers up to date.

Any Singapore citizen residing overseas who satisfies the qualifying criteria may apply to the Elections Department to be registered as an overseas elector to cast his vote at one of the 10 overseas polling stations. Besides the overseas polling station that is allotted to him, the person will also be allotted a polling station in Singapore during an election, where he can go to cast his vote if he is back in Singapore on Polling Day.  In Mainland China, overseas polling stations have been designated to be located within the Singapore Embassy in Beijing and the Singapore Consulate-General in Shanghai.

Singapore citizens may wish to check if they satisfy the qualifying criteria and register/re-register as an overseas elector at http://www.eld.gov.sg
