Singapore established diplomatic relations with Egypt in 1966. Since diplomatic relations were established between Singapore and Libya in 2006, the Ambassador to Egypt is concurrently accredited to Libya.
About the Ambassador
Mr Dominic Goh is Singapore’s Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt since 15 September 2019. Prior to his current appointment, Mr Goh was Singapore’s Ambassador to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic from January 2015 to July 2019.
Born in Singapore, Mr Goh obtained his Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the National University of Singapore in 1990. He was awarded the Singapore Government Scholarship in 2003 and obtained his Master of Arts in International Relations from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University, United States of America in 2004.
He joined the Singapore Foreign Service in October 1994. In the Ministry’s Headquarters, Mr Goh was first appointed to the Consular Directorate. He subsequently served in various capacities, including in the ASEAN Directorate where he was Deputy Director-General for ASEAN Regional Policy and the ASEAN Political and Security Community. He was Director-General for International Economics from February 2011 to July 2012; and Director-General of the Europe Directorate from July 2012 to November 2014.
He served in Bonn from February 1997 to August 1999 as First Secretary. He served in Berlin from August 1999 to June 2000 and as Counsellor/Deputy Chief of Mission from August 2004 to May 2008.
In 2014, Mr Goh was appointed an honorary Companion of the Order of St. Michael and St. George by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
He was awarded the Long Service Medal (PBS) in 2017.
He was awarded the Cross of Friendship by the Government of the Lao PDR in 2019.
He is married to Mrs Sharon Goh.
