The Embassy provides notarial services at applicable changes, in connection with the legalisation of documents covering transactions between parties in two or more countries such as authentication of documents, attestations, statutory declaration, etc. Please contact the Embassy and make an appointment with the Consular Officer should you require such services; or have further enquiries on the respective notarial fee changeable. You must bring along your passport or other proof of identity with your picture.
For documents executed in Qatar and for use in proceedings in Singapore, they must be notarised by a Notary Public in the first instance. A Notarial Certificate is issued accordingly and then the documents are presented to the relevant Qatari authorities (Consular Affairs Dept of the Qatar Ministry of Foreign Affairs) for their endorsement that the signature of the Notary Public is in order. After this, present the same documents to the Embassy for attestation of the signature.

Bring the documents to a local Notary Public for legalisation.
Legalised documents should be brought to the Consular Affairs Dept of the Qatar MFA for attestation.
After the attestation, the documents should then be brought to the Singapore Embassy in Doha for legalisation.

Legalisation of Government Documents
All documents issued by the Singapore Government Departments (eg. Registry of Marriage Certificates, Birth Certificates and Educational Certificates from local government schools) in their original text will be directly legalised by Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA). However, computer generated documents eg. Registrar of Marriage Search, Certificate of Making Decree Nisi Absolute, Adoption Petition, Business Profile from ACRA etc, must be certified by the issuing department first before presenting to MFA for legalisation.
For legalisation of true copies, please present the photocopy together with the original document for verification. After the legalisation by MFA, the documents should then be brought to the Qatar Embassy in Singapore for authentication.
Legalisation of Non-Government Documents
Non-government documents (foreign / private / company documents) for use overseas to be legalised as follows:
- Notarised by a Notary Public (any law firm offering notarial services).
To be issued with a notarial certificate.

- Proceed to Ministry of Foreign Affairs Singapore (MFA) for legalisation.
Commercial documents such as Invoices, Bills of Sales, Certificates of Origin, Fumigation certificates, etc should be certified or seen by any of the four Chambers of Commerce (International, Chinese, Indian & Malay) or the Singapore Manufacturers' Association before presenting to MFA for legalisation.
- After the legalisation by MFA, the documents should then be brought to the Qatar Embassy in Singapore for authentication.
- ATTESTATION OF SIGNATURES
For documents which require your signature in the presence of a Consular Officer, please call the Singapore Embassy to make an appointment. Please bring along your passport/NRIC for verification of identity.
- AFFIDAVITS
This is an act in which the Consular Officer certifies that a person has in the presence of the consular officer, made a voluntary signature and has taken an oath or affirmation vouching for the truthfulness of the signed document. - STATUTORY DECLARATION
A statutory declaration is a written statement in a prescribed form in which the person making the written declaration signs and swears or affirms the contents to be true. Making a false declaration is a criminal offence punishable by fine and/or imprisonment. Please call the Singapore Embassy to make an appointment. Please bring along your identity card or passport for verification of identity.
