In response to media queries on the agreement between the P5+1 and Iran on the parameters of a Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on Iran’s nuclear programme announced on 2 April 2015, the MFA Spokesman said:
“We welcome this important development, and commend the efforts of all parties involved. Much work remains to be done. The next stage of negotiations will be critical and we strongly urge all parties to capitalise on the positive momentum to reach a final and comprehensive agreement by 30 June 2015. A comprehensive and negotiated solution is the best way forward. While Iran has the right to the peaceful use of nuclear energy, it must address the legitimate concerns of the international community about the nature of its nuclear programme.”
