The Consular Section in Geneva is located in the same premises as the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Singapore in Geneva.

 

The Consular Section is open from 8.30am - 1pm and 2pm - 5pm from Mondays to Fridays except on public holidays.

b) Take buses 6, 19, 22 or 51 and stop at Châtelaine, Vernier. Walk towards Avenue du Pailly with the Chatelaine Public School on your right. Turn right on Avenue Du Pailly and continue walking for approximately 400m. The Permanent Mission will be on your right.

Visa Application

Procedure

The visa application can be submitted at the Permanent Mission of Singapore at Geneva, in-person during our office hours (from 08:30 to 13:00 and from 14:00 to 17:00) or by registered post.  The visa application should be submitted 1 month at the earliest before departure (no appointment required).  The processing time takes approximately 5 days, and the required documents are as follows:

  1. Completed Visa Application form 14A
  2. One colour passport-sized photograph taken against a white background in matt finish showing the full face without headgear and taken within the last 3 months. (Headgear worn in respect of religious or racial customs is permissible but must not hide the facial features)
  3. Photocopy of passport’s biodata page and cover page, which is valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry into Singapore
  4. Return/onward flight details
  5. Booking confirmation from the hotel in Singapore
  6. Copy of the Swiss permanent residence card/Swiss visa/Schengen visa
  7. Completed Letter of Introduction (LOI) Form duly completed by a Singaporean or Singapore permanent resident for business trips or if you are staying at friends/family place
  8. Copy of local contact’s Singapore Identity Card if the LOI is submitted
  9. For Business Visits, a computer printout of the Singapore registered business entity’s detailed business profile from the Instant Information Service within the last 3 months at the following website: https://www.acra.gov.sg/home/ (compulsory for business trips)

 

The approved visa will be in an eVisa form, which will be sent electronically.  The length and type (number of entries) of the visa issued is at the Singapore immigration authority’s discretion. Please note that the issuance of a visa does not automatic guarantee entry into Singapore, which is dependent on the issuance of a Visit Pass by the immigration authorities upon arrival at the immigration checkpoint in Singapore.  The length of a social/tourism Visit Pass granted is usually 30 days.

 

Payment

A non-refundable processing fee of CHF 21 per visa application will be collected at the time of submission. Payment should be made via bank transfer in favour of the Permanent Mission of Singapore to the World Trade Organisation for applications submitted by post, or in cash only if you decide to submit your application in person at our Mission. There is no refund for a rejected application. All relevant bank charges will have to be borne by the applicant.

Entry Requirements 

 

At present, travellers can enter Singapore on the condition that they satisfy the usual entry requirements which are as follows:

 

  1. Produce a submitted SG Arrival Card [Note: Please note that no payment is required and it can only be submitted 72 hrs prior your departure at the earliest)
  2. Produce a passport valid for at least 6 months
  3. Have sufficient funds for the length of the stay
  4. Produce a confirmed onward or return ticket
  5. Produce evidence that you can enter the next destination (if necessary)
  6. Produce a yellow fever vaccination certificate if travelling from/in a country with a risk of yellow fever (list of countries available on ICA’s website)
  7. Produce proof of prior entry approval if required (e.g. visa)

Passport Applicants

 

The Consular Section processes applications for Singapore passports. Application forms are available at the Mission or can be downloaded from the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) website.

 

 

Singapore Citizenship Application 

 

From 25 October 2018 onward, applications for Singapore Citizenship may be submitted online. To apply online, the Singapore Citizen parent is required to log in to the Singapore Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) e-service, eSC using his/her SingPass account. More information can be found here.  Applicants who are unable to submit online applications may write to ICA Citizenship Unit for assistance at ICA_Citizenship_Unit@ica.gov.sg. 

 

Renunciation of Singapore Citizenship

From 20 November 2023 onward, Singapore Citizens are to submit the application to renounce their citizenship online. A citizen of Singapore can only renounce his/her Singapore citizenship if he/she:

  • Is aged 21 and above;
  • Is of sound mind; and
  • Has acquired the citizenship of another country. 

Singapore Citizens can submit their application via the online application portal. For more information, please refer to ICA's website


Certificate of Clearance (COC)

 

A Certificate of Clearance (COC) is issued by the Criminal Investigation Department of the Singapore Police Force (SPF) to certify that a person has no criminal conviction within a stipulated period of time of residence in Singapore. More information can be obtained from the SPF website at http://www.police.gov.sg.

 

Applicants who are non-Singapore Citizens

W.e.f. 16 May 2024, non-Singapore Citizens applicants are no longer required to submit an Appeal to Apply for a COC. Applicants may submit online application at https://go.gov.sg/spf-applyforcertificateofclearance using Singpass/FIN number. 

For non-Singapore Citizen residing in Singapore, you will receive a notification to book an appointment to have your fingerprint impressions recorded at Police Cantonment Complex, upon payment and submission of the COC application. The COC will be issued to you upon recording of your fingerprint impressions at Police Cantonment Complex.

For non-Singapore Citizen residing overseas with no Singpass/ FIN number, you are required to write to the Singapore Ministry of Manpower (MOM) (for employment pass holders) at mom_wpd@mom.gov.sg or the Singapore Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) (for student pass holders, Singapore PRs, short-term visitors) at https://www.ica.gov.sg/feedbackform to check on the NRIC/FIN number. Once received, you may log in to https://go.gov.sg/spf-applyforcertificateofclearance to submit the online application including making payment to process the COC application. Notarial and Authentication Services

 

The Consular Section provides notarial and authentication services. 

 
Any documents not issued by the Singapore Government authorities but which requires notarisation must be referred to a Notary Public first for notarisation. The Notarial Certificate then has to be presented to the proper Swiss authorities where the Notary Public's signature must be verified before presenting it to the Consular Section for the attestation of the signature of the Swiss authorities.
