I am deeply saddened to learn of the devastation caused by the massive landslide at Xinmo Village in Sichuan Province’s Mao County on 24 June 2017, which has resulted in the loss of many lives. On behalf of the Government of Singapore, I offer my deepest condolences and sympathies to the victims and their loved ones. I am confident that under the leadership of President Xi Jinping and yourself, the Chinese government authorities are doing their best in the search and rescue efforts, and those affected will be able to recover from this disaster.
