Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Manpower and Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sam Tan represented Singapore at the European Ceremony of Honour commemorating the passing of former Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Helmut Kohl in the European Parliament in Strasbourg on 1 July 2017. On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Singapore, MOS Tan extended his condolences to the Government and people of Germany on the passing of Mr Kohl, who was a good and old friend of Singapore.

MOS Tan was accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
