Consul General Chua joined the Consular Corps visit to Zhongshan over the weekend organised by Foreign Affairs Office of Guangdong Provincial People’s Government where they visited Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor project site, South China Headquarter of Harbin Institute of Technology Robot Group and former residence of Dr Sun Yat-sen and Intangible Cultural heritage Showroom of Zhongshan. We also visited the Lousanmei Hill, where Mr Deng Xiaoping first said his famous “never go back” quote. Mr Tang Ying, Executive Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of Zhongshan People’s Congress and Zhongshan Deputy Party Secretary Chen Wenfeng hosted the welcome dinner for the Consular Corps, where CG spoke on behalf of the Consular Corps present. The visit provided a useful first-hand update on the development potentials of Zhongshan city under the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, particularly its connectivity plans.
