Singapore International School in Hong Kong 25Th Anniversary Celebrations

The Singapore International School in Hong Kong (SISHK) celebrated its 25Th Anniversary on 24 February 2017 at its campus in Wong Chuk Hang!


On the invitation of SISHK Principal, Mr Pek Wee Haur, Consul-General Ms Foo Teow Lee attended the celebrations as the Guest-of-Honour (GOH), along with Chairman of the Board of Governors, Mr Robert Ng. Also present were also Governors and Staff Members from the Singapore Consulate and Overseas Singaporean Unit (OSU) to commemorate the special occasion.

To kick-start the celebrations, CG Foo unveiled a mosaic mural created by all primary and secondary students of SISHK and public art installation artists, Ms Karen Pow and Mr Harn-Hae Chao, which symbolizes the school’s dynamic and vibrant environment.

CG Foo was then greeted by heart-warming dance performances staged by the Primary School Students, followed by a tour of Exhibition Booths put up by the Students on various areas of their curriculum, such as visual arts, Chinese Calligraphy and Culture, Sporting Events and etc. This was followed a series of recitals in mandarin and Chinese, choir and drama performances that ended the afternoon with a blast. CG Foo and guests were truly impressed by the students’ talents amidst their busy academic schedules, and of course not forgetting the dedication of the teaching staff to make this event a great success.

In her speech, CG Foo commended the efforts of SISHK’s pioneers and the Board of Governors when it was first started. She also congratulated Principal Mr Pek and SISHK for its achievement in the past 25 years and thanked the school for its contribution to the education of our future generation. 

It was a memorable and joyous afternoon well-spent with the SISHK community. Great job to SISHK for continuing to fly the Singapore Flag high and to do Singaporeans away from home proud!
