The Singapore Embassy is now receiving applications for the Dr Goh Keng Swee (GKS) Scholarship.
The GKS Scholarship was established by financial community in Singapore to honour the former Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore, Dr Goh Keng Swee, who helped foster Singapore's economic development and its growth as a reputable international financial centre. The GKS Scholarships will be awarded to outstanding individuals from the Asia-Pacific region to pursue undergraduate studies in approved areas at local universities in Singapore, commencing July/Aug 2005. The course of study should preferably but not necessarily be relevant to the financial sector.
Applicants must have an outstanding GCE "A" level or equivalent qualifications acceptable for admission to the university concerned for the intended course of study. Those who are about to enter university and those already studying in university are also eligible to apply. Applicants must be fluent in English, and preferably below 25 years old.
Each award will be for the minimum period of 3 to 4 years required to complete the course of study. The award will be reviewed annually subject to satisfactory performance and academic results. The scholarship will also provide return economy airfare, tuition fees, and other compulsory fees, as well as an annual allowance. Application forms can be obtained from:

Requests for forms must be accompanied by a stamped self-addressed envelope. The deadline for the submission of applications is Friday, 17 December 2004.
