The Singapore Embassy in Manila, in cooperation with Singapore’s Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, supported the event “An Evening of Russian Piano Concertos” presented by the Cultural Arts Events Organizer on 15 August 2018. The concert marked the first collaborative performance of Grammy Award nominee and Singaporean conductor Darrell Ang and renowned Vienna-based pianist Aries Caces. Ang and Caces took the audience on a dazzling stroll through Russian musical inspirations, featuring the Philippine premier of Medtner’s Piano Concerto No. 2 as well as timeless pieces from Glinka and Rachmaninoff. Ang also invited around 80 street children from advocacy organisation Childhope Philippines to watch the concert in the hope of inspiring the youth through music. The concert was widely attended by prominent personalities from different segments of Philippine society, and ended with a standing ovation by the audience.
