The Singapore Embassy in Manila hosted a Chinese New Year Reception for our Overseas Singaporean Community on 29 January 2020. With two lions dancing to clanging cymbals and booming drums, the community welcomed the Year of the Rat. In keeping with tradition, we “lo hei” (prosperity toss) and wished each other prosperity and good fortune. Acknowledging that the year has gotten to a challenging start (with the Taal volcano eruption and 2019-nCoV), the evening was a reminder for all of us to remain united and to keep our spirits high. It was also a good time to catch up and relax with each other. The Embassy wishes everyone a prosperous Year of the Rat! Have a ιΌ per year ahead!
