Singapore Ambassador Gerard Ho formalised Singapore’s contribution of 3,000 COVID-19 tests and one Polymerase Chain Reaction Machine to the Philippines in a ceremonial handover to Philippine Secretary of Foreign Affairs Teodoro Locsin Jr. The test kits, which have to be kept at a specific temperature, arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport shortly after noon on 24 March 2020, and have been transported to the receiving lab.
The COVID-19 pandemic has taken many lives and caused massive disruptions globally. Singapore stands with the Philippines in this very difficult time. Singapore has developed several digital tools to deal with the COVID-19 situation, and we stand ready to share them with the Philippines.
We believe in the resilience of the Filipino people, and will continue to do what we can to support the Philippines’ efforts to contain COVID-19.
