ASEAN Conducts Management Programme to Strengthen Secretariat
JAKARTA, 6 November 2014 – Senior officials of the ASEAN Secretariat (ASEC) attended a three-and-half-day Executive Development Programme in Jakarta on 27-30 October. The Programme was conducted by professors from the Singapore Management University (SMU), which is a leading Asian university.
Initiated by the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Singapore to ASEAN, the Executive Development Programme aims to enhance capacity building for the staff to support the strengthening of the Secretariat. The Programme covered a wide-range of topics such as leadership, strategy, talent and team development, communication, decision making, governance and finance. A key component of the Programme involved the participants in discussions of case studies, debating ideas and scrutinising issues.
The Permanent Representative of the Republic of Singapore, H.E. Ambassador Tan Hung Seng graced the closing ceremony held on 30 October, and presented certificates to all the participants. H.E. Dr. Lim Hong Hin, Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for ASEAN Economic Community gave the closing remarks on behalf of ASEAN Secretary-General H.E. Le Luong Minh. Also present were the Permanent Representatives of other ASEAN Member States and/or their representatives.
