The ASEAN Economic Community 2015: Progress and Key Achievements
JAKARTA, 20 November 2015 – ASEAN released The ASEAN Economic Community 2015: Progress and Key Achievements publication, which serves as a quick reader-friendly reference on the AEC. It succinctly explains the origin of the AEC, what it means, where it is now and what kind of benefits it brings.
The publication starts by providing an overview of the historical context of the AEC as well as the AEC Blueprint 2015. It then reports on the progress made in ASEAN economic integration through the implementation of the AEC Blueprint 2015, aided by the AEC Scorecard and highlights key areas of achievement. Success stories from around the region were also collected to illustrate the opportunities presented by the AEC to businesses, big and small. The publication then closes with a short chapter on the decade ahead, as the region embarks on the journey towards AEC 2025.
The publication aims to bring better awareness and understanding of the AEC as well as encourage the participation of all stakeholders to realise the Community’s potential benefits.
