ASEAN Integration Report 2015
JAKARTA, 20 November 2015 - The ASEAN Integration Report (AIR) 2015 provides a comprehensive analysis of the progress and achievements, including evaluating the impact, of implementation of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) Blueprint since its adoption in 2007.
While serving as a cornerstone of an enhanced monitoring framework for the AEC, the quantitative and qualitative synthesis provided in the AIR 2015 contributes to deepening the understanding among ASEAN policymakers, scholars, researchers, as well as the public at large of the key dimensions of ASEAN economic integration. Building on the inaugural issue, the ASEAN Integration Report will be published periodically, assessing the progress and impact of the AEC post-2015 agenda as well as contributing to a more informed policy and decision-making process.
Timely in its release, the AIR 2015 gives focus on the implementation and impact of measures across the four pillars of AEC, drawing attention to both the achievements and challenges within the process. The AIR 2015, through its theme chapter, also assesses the progress made through and the achievements of the sectoral approach to regional economic integration in select priority integration sectors and sub-sectors.
The AIR 2015 highlights that regional economic integration is ongoing and dynamic, while showing that effective implementation of regional commitments requires broad support, including at the national level.
