New permanent representative of Brunei Darussalam to ASEAN assumes post
JAKARTA, 19 October 2016 – Brunei Darussalam’s Permanent Representative (PR) to ASEAN, H.E. Pengiran Hajah Faezah Pengiran Haji Abdul Rahman, presented her Letter of Credentials to the Secretary-General of ASEAN, H.E. Le Luong Minh, at a ceremony held at the ASEAN Secretariat yesterday morning.
Secretary-General Minh and Ambassador Faezah exchanged views on various matters including the importance of the work of the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN (CPR), strengthening of the ASEAN Secretariat and support for the Philippines’s ASEAN Chairmanship next year, which coincides with the 50th Anniversary of ASEAN.
Prior to her appointment, Ambassador Faezah held various positions of Director at the Department of Politics I, Politics II and Policy Planning of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade from 2012 to 2016. She was the Deputy Director at the ASEAN Department-Brunei Darussalam in 2006-2007.
Ambassador Faezah succeeds H.E. Emaleen Abd Rahman Teo who completed her tenure as the Permanent Representative of Brunei Darussalam to ASEAN last year.
