ASEAN launches ASEAN Connectivity 2025 video series
MANILA, 12 November 2017 – The ASEAN Member States launched today the Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity (MPAC) 2025 Video Series at the sidelines of 31st ASEAN Summit on 12 November 2017 in Pasay, Metro Manila, Philippines, to introduce ASEAN Connectivity and MPAC 2025 to the peoples of ASEAN.
The Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity 2025 aims to achieve a seamlessly and comprehensively connected and integrated Southeast Asia that will promote competitiveness, inclusiveness and a greater sense of community. A video featuring an overview of MPAC 2025 was screened at the launch. The video is the first out of six videos on MPAC 2025 which are being developed by the ASEAN Connectivity Coordinating Committee.
Le Luong Minh, the Secretary-General of ASEAN emphasised that “well-designed communication products alone would not reach the target audience without effective outreach and socialisation activities to mainstream the messages on ASEAN Connectivity to the relevant stakeholders.” He called on all Member States “to continuously engage our stakeholders in various forms of interactions, dialogues and cooperation necessary to strengthen cross-sectoral and cross-pillar coordination and thus, ensure robust implementation of MPAC 2025.”
The remaining five videos featuring the five strategic areas of MPAC 2025, namely sustainable infrastructure, digital innovation, seamless logistics, regulatory excellence and people mobility, will be released on a staggered basis over the next three months. Webpages and bite-sized stories on ASEAN Connectivity will also be developed.
The development of these communication products has been supported by the Australian Government, through the ASEAN-Australia Development Cooperation Programme (AADCP) Phase II.
More information on the MPAC 2025 video series can be found on ASEAN’s official website and social media platforms.
