Ambassador Tan Hung Seng, Singapore Permanent Representative to ASEAN, and the Chair of the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN, presented a cutting of the orchid to ASEAN Secretary-General Dato Lim Jock Hoi on 5 January 2018. The orchid hybrid, named Papilionanda ASEAN Golden Jubilee, was unveiled in Singapore in 2017 to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of ASEAN. It is a resilient and free flowering Vandaceous orchid hybrid that symbolises the prosperity and unity of ASEAN.
