MFA PRESS STATEMENT: 44th ASEAN MINISTERIAL MEETING AND RELATED MEETINGS, 18-23 JULY 2011, BALI, INDONESIA
Minister for Foreign Affairs K Shanmugam will lead the Singapore delegation to the 44th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting (AMM), the Post Ministerial Conferences (PMCs), and the 18th ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) in Bali, Indonesia from 18 to 23 July 2011.
In Bali, the ASEAN Foreign Ministers will review the progress in ASEAN's key community-building and economic integration targets, as well as the implementation of the Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity. They will also take stock of ASEAN's relations with its external partners and exchange views on regional and international issues.
The ASEAN Foreign Ministers will also meet their counterparts from the ASEAN Plus Three and East Asia Summit (EAS) countries1 on 21 and 22 July 2011 respectively to discuss ways to strengthen these key regional processes. During the PMCs, the ASEAN Foreign Ministers will meet their counterparts from each of ASEAN's Dialogue Partners (namely, Australia, Canada, China, European Union, India, Japan, New Zealand, Republic of Korea, the Russian Federation and the United States) to review relations and cooperation. On 23 July 2011, the ARF Ministers will exchange views on key regional developments.
Minister Shanmugam will also conduct bilateral meetings with his counterparts from some of the ASEAN countries, ASEAN Dialogue Partners and ARF members at the sidelines.
