MFA Press Statement: Visit by Minister for Transport and Second Minister for Foreign Affairs Lui Tuck Yew to Siem Reap, Cambodia for the “Commitment To Connectivity” US-ASEAN Business Forum
Minister for Transport and Second Minister for Foreign Affairs Lui Tuck Yew will depart for Siem Reap today to attend the “Commitment to Connectivity” US-ASEAN Business Forum (C2C Forum) on 13 July 2012. Minister Lui was invited to attend the C2C Forum by US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Co-organised by the US-ASEAN Business Council and the US Chamber of Commerce, the C2C Forum brings together government leadersh and prominent business personalities from ASEAN Member States and the US to identify challenges and opportunities for US-ASEAN economic cooperation, in particular on ASEAN Connectivity and the development of an ASEAN Economic Community by 2015.
At the C2C Forum, Minister Lui will speak at a roundtable discussion session titled “Regional Perspectives: Views on Energy, Infrastructure, and Connectivity”. Minister Lui will also meet with US Undersecretary of Commerce for International Trade Francisco Sanchez on the sidelines of the C2C Forum.
Minister Lui will be accompanied in Siem Reap by a Singapore business delegation, as well as officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Transport.
