The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) and the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) will be conducting a joint public consultation exercise to seek public opinion and views on the ASEAN Community Blueprints (2016-2025) from 6 July 2015 to 16 July 2015.

The ASEAN Community, based on the three Community Pillars of the ASEAN Political-Security Community (APSC), ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) and the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC), will be established at the end of 2015.  As Community-building is an ongoing process, ASEAN has established a High Level Task Force to develop the ASEAN Community Vision 2025 and three ASEAN Community Blueprints (2016-2025) to be adopted at the 27th ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur in November 2015.

In line with the Government’s approach to consult stakeholders on issues of public interest, MFA, MTI and MSF, as the respective focal points for Singapore for the three Community Pillars, will be conducting a public consultation exercise on the APSC, AEC and ASCC Blueprints.  Stakeholders and interested members of the public are invited to share their views on the Community Blueprints through the official websites of the ministries from 0800 hours on 6 July 2015 to 1800 hours on 16 July 2015.

As part of the process of developing the ASEAN Community Vision 2025 and the three ASEAN Community Blueprints, Singapore will also be hosting the 7th Meeting of the High Level Task Force from 6 to 9 July 2015.  The High Level Task Force comprises senior officials from the ten ASEAN Member States.  Ambassador-at-Large Ong Keng Yong is Singapore’s representative to the High Level Task Force.
