PM Lee Hsien Loong was in Brussels, Belgium, on 19 October 2018 for the ASEAN-EU Leaders’ Meeting where he represented ASEAN as the ASEAN Chair in 2018. ASEAN and the EU are long-standing economic partners. At the ASEAN-EU Leaders’ Meeting, the leaders discussed ways to strengthen the relationship, including the ASEAN-EU Comprehensive Air Transport Agreement and negotiations for an ASEAN-EU FTA.
