PR Kok Li Peng co-chaired the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN (CPR)’s interface with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada HE Mélanie Joly on 11 April 2022 at the ASEAN Secretariat. The CPR welcomed Minister Joly on her first visit to the region since her appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs. As 2022 marks the 45th anniversary of ASEAN-Canada Dialogue Relations, the meeting looked forward to commemorative activities to mark the anniversary. The meeting also discussed ways to strengthen ASEAN-Canada engagement and cooperation, including Canada’s proposal to establish a Strategic Partnership with ASEAN. The meeting also exchanged views on regional and international issues.
