Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Nara Chandrababu Naidu is in Singapore on an official visit from 12 to 14 November. Mr Naidu is accompanied by senior officials from Andhra Pradesh.
On 13 November 2014, Mr Naidu called on Emeritus Senior Minister (ESM) Goh Chok Tong. ESM Goh and Mr Naidu discussed recent developments in Andhra Pradesh since their last meeting in Hyderabad in September 2014. Both sides also discussed potential collaboration in urban development.
Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Law K Shanmugam also hosted Mr Naidu to lunch on 13 November 2014. Minister Shanmugam reaffirmed Mr Naidu’s longstanding friendship with Singapore, as well as Singapore’s strong economic links with Andhra Pradesh. Both sides had a good discussion on urban initiatives that Singapore and Andhra Pradesh could potentially collaborate on.
Mr Naidu will meet Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Tharman Shanmugaratnam at the Institute of South Asian Studies’ (ISAS) Ninth International Conference on “The States of South Asia” Welcome Dinner later this evening. He will also deliver a keynote address at the ISAS Conference and meet Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister for Home Affairs and Trade and Industry S Iswaran tomorrow.
